How much should you spend on a first date to impress the object of your affections? £50? £100? £150? Well, 22% of women in Essex would be fine if someone spent just £20 on them.
The figures come from group-saving website Groupola.com, which investigated how much cash women in different parts of the country think is acceptable to spend on them during a date.
Essex was found to be the place where more women considered themselves to be “cheap dates” than anywhere else: some 61% of women there think of themselves as cheap dates, 52% are fine with splitting the bill and just one girl in 17 thought someone should spend £150 on a romantic night out.
